There will be a soup supper and presentation about the Indianhead Community Action Agency, what it is and what it does. This is a free meal and there will be time for questions. All are welcome and this event is handicap accessible. Sponsored by the Congregational Church UCC and Walking in Grace ELCA.

There will be an “Empty Bowls” soup dinner. Come and have a bowl of soup and take home a bowl created by local artists to remind your family of the empty bowls in our community and around the world. A donation of 10 dollars is suggested and there will be a few bowls for silent auction. All proceeds will go to local food pantries. All are welcome and this event is handicap accessible. “Season of on Civility” is a program developed by the Wisconsin Council of Churches. Leslie will host our local meetings on Wednesdays: September 19th, October 3rd, October 17th, and November 7th. You can attend either the 1:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. session.

As part of our mission work, we have been discerning how to be of service in our local community. Thus, we are planning to convene an information session with a number of helping organizations in the county on May 17, 2012, noon – 2 pm, at Rusk County Library’s O’Connor meeting room. The meeting will include a lunch for all attendees and both table and panel discussions of how we can all work together for the good of our neighbors.

We’ll resume our usual worship schedule; meeting at 6:00 p.m. for worship and communion. We’ll meet for our monthly potluck on January 22nd at 5:00 p.m. to investigate “What is Evangelism?”
In response to our national church’s call to re-examine our mission we’ve begun a three-part study entitled “Beyond Our Doors.”
At each of our next three potluck/study/communion services we will begin to examine what we are called by Christ to do in our local, regional and global communities.
All are welcome to eat with us and join us.
